Workplace culture and communications consultant working at laptop in calm office setting. Her interpretation of Belonging - 'to be generative'

Rebecca Adams founded Lion & Mouse to tackle a growing challenge: the gap between culture and communications. Too often, organisations invest in social value communications before building the internal culture to support their message. This creates a disconnect between what they say and what people experience. Over time, that gap erodes trust, damages reputation, and makes it harder to attract and retain talent.

We close that gap by aligning what organisations say with what people actually experience. When culture shapes communications, not the other way around, organisations build credibility, strengthen reputation, and create workplaces where people genuinely thrive.

Through research and experience, we understand that belonging is not created through statements or policies, but through consistent, everyday actions. This is why we build culture and communications from a foundation of clear, organisation-specific values.

This values-led approach helps organisations create environments where expectations are clear, people feel safe and empowered, and communications reflect real experience.

Our Five Conditions of Belonging provide a practical framework to strengthen culture, support individuals, and communicate values with credibility.
